2012

David Arney, President, CEO and Co-Owner of Akers & Arney Insurance recently attended the 2012 Small Agency Conference sponsored by the Missouri Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA). Arney received critical industry updates including important legislative actions that impact insurance agency’s ability to serve their clients.

Other sessions included identifying how to increase client’s loss coverage, what is insurable and not insurable concerning contracts and leases, and communicating services better. “Our clients know us as trusted advisors. We’re not just sellers of commodities,” said Arney. “Their personal and business success is vital to us.”

Dr. Jason Selk was the keynote speaker for the conference. Selk is the Director of Mental Training for the St. Louis Cardinals and best-selling author who is a regular contributor to ABC, CBS, ESPN, and NBC radio and television. Selk featured Relentless Solution Focus which he refers to as the ultimate measure of mental toughness. He believes this method increases individual health, happiness and success which by extension produces organizations that are healthier, happier and more successful.

“We are always looking for new ways to increase client satisfaction as well as provide a happy, successful work environment for our employees,” said Arney. “We focus on finding solutions.”

Arney points to the company’s 60 year history in the community. Established in 1952, Akers & Arney is the oldest independent insurance and risk management agency in the Branson area providing corporate, small business and family insurance solutions.

Akers & Arney Insurance has been a Best Practices Agency and a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Missouri Association of Insurance Agents and Sitkins International.

According to Arney, participation in the Small Agency Conference is critical to their company mission. “I believe that being progressive and well-informed about issues that affect our clients is one of the many ways we help strengthen the business community,” said Arney.
